RatPack Intro:
The Great Barrier Reef is an ABSOLUTE beautyyyyy and there’s no better place to Learn to Dive and get your PADI qualification than the reef! The adventure of learning to dive at the Pro Dive pool & school as well as staying out on the reef for 3 days and 2 nights on one of the EPIC live aboard dive boats is an experience like NO other.
On this tour you’ll be able to get way down in the underwater world and explore the reef, see the beautiful coral and look for turtles, reef sharks (they don’t bite!), rays, nemos and an amazing array of tropical colourful fish..
This tour is suitable for those who have never learnt to dive before and want to gain a PADI open water qualification. If you already have a PADI qualification and are a certified diver and want to dive on the reef click here.
This tour is broken down into 2 different parts, you’ll spend 2 days in the classroom and in the pool doing all of your training and then you’ll head out onto the reef where you’ll spend 3 days and 2 nights living and diving on the Great Barrier Reef! Your course includes 9 dives {including night dives!} on some of the best dive sites the Outer Great Barrier Reef has to offer as well as plenty of time to snorkel, relax and really enjoy the reef experience. This course offers the ultimate experience and value and will open up some awesome diving opportunities.
During the school and pool days {days 1 and 2} you will need to sort out your own accomodation in Cairns where the team will pick you up from each day. After that you’ll be living on the boat for 3 days & 2 nights and whilst onboard all of your accommodation and food is included and everything you need to dive is provided, we’re talking all dive & snorkeling equipment – includes dive computer, wetsuit and dive torch.
You’ll have an experience like no other whilst you are on the epic liveaboard boat! These boats are the absolute bomb and are purpose built for liveaboard diving adventures, you’ll have air conditioning, double or twin share rooms, and a large lounge and a sundeck area. Be prepared to have an awesome personalised experience with a small group of around 30 people, we can guarantee you a relaxed and intimate experience. So not only will you be getting to dive on one of the most incredible reefs in the world but you’ll also be with a group of fellow legends as the Pro Dive crew are awesome and will ensure you have the BEST time whilst giving you their expert guidance.
Once the course is completed you will be the proud owner of a PADI Gold Open Water Certification! Love abit of learning and having fun hey… it’s the RatPack way!
Itinerary:
The first two days of your course are spent at our modern training centre learning the theory and practical skills of scuba diving. At the end of day 2 we recommend the option of attending ‘Reef Teach’. ‘Reef Teach’ is a fun and informative marine biology presentation that will greatly enhance your reef experience. (Additional cost)The next 3 days and 2 nights are spent living on board one of our premium live aboard dive vessels. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in 9 dives on a variety of our 16 exclusive dive sites on the outer Great Barrier Reef. Your first 4 dives will complete your open water certification and then as certified diver you are able to undertake up to 5 more recreational or pleasure dives. One of these dives is a guided night dive! These extra dives will be a highlight of your course and a truly memorable experience.On the night of your return to Cairns you have the option to join your fellow passengers and the crew for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
